Construction began in 1798. Construction stopped when the British invaded the Rio de la Plata in 1804. When the British to Maldonado Uruguay,the population was mostly comprised of women and children take refuge in inglese catedral. los put guns in front of her and from outside bombed the church killing people who took refuge there ....
