Termas Del Dayman
A Salto, Uruguay Healing Destination

 

Located in Salto, Uruguay, the Termas Del Dayman or Hot Springs of Dayman are municipal thermal baths. There are a number of pools of every shape allowing a choice among those who visit. There are buses available to the springs every hour if you arrive in Salto, Uruguay on a day trip.

Renowned for the natural healing properties, Termas Del Dayman attracts many visitors yearly. The healing power is said to be from a combination of heat and salinity. The waters have various chemicals that include magnesium, iodine, fluoride and calcium.

The temperature in the pools ranges from 100 degrees to 110 degrees, making this destination quite popular in the winter months from June to September. Since Uruguay is located in the southern hemisphere, the seasons are not the same as they are in the North America and the summer months here are December, January, February and March.

The springs come from a depth of over 2,000 meters and emerge at 160,000 liters per hour. The resort that is located here has a swimming pool ozone, individual and communal hot springs, a Jacuzzi and saunas.

This is the perfect spot for relaxation and includes massage therapy and physical therapy areas that visitors can visit for management of stress related to trauma, rheumatic disease, neuralgic and skeletal muscle problems.

In addition, the hot springs has pools for children as well and changing rooms for visitors. There is a day camping area with a shower, barbecues, a playground and benches and tables.

Many people opt to stay in Salto, Uruguay at the resort, which features hotels and bungalows. The Os Naranjos Thermal Resort & Spa is one of the venues that tourists enjoy.

The Acuamania Water Park is near Termas Del Dayman and is the first thermal water park to be located in South America. There are many families who come here on vacation to enjoy the springs as well as the activities at the water park.

There is something here for all ages. The Kamikaze, the Hidroturbo and the Twister allow visitors to have an experience unlike any other.

The Acuamania also provides a shopping area for visitors with a fast food area. The pools include one for the very young with a slider, boom, net climb and water slides. For older children there is a pool featuring a fishing boat with water games and slides.

The adults can enjoy a poll with a Jacuzzi, a waterfall and Beach Club.

The water park offers entertainment and games from the suppliers that equip Disney Parks and Wet ‘n Wild with their entertainment.

There are a number of timeshares offered in this area of Uruguay as well.

Termas Del Dayman was elected European Capital of Culture for 2012. Among the many hotels, cabins and camping options for this small town is the Agua Sol, which is only a block form Termas Del Dayman.

This hotel is one of many that feature thermal baths for guests only. There are many among the hotels located here that do so. However, they do not have the park-like setting that the public resort features. They are, nonetheless, a choice among those who want to come and enjoy the thermal springs in private.
